One Who Is Faithful in a Very Little

There were once two people who worked for a day’s wage.
The wicked servant, not knowing the master was watching,
always thought it was enough just to pass the time,
and even with a small water jar
idled about and did not work hard.
The good servant, whether anyone was watching or not, worked beyond their strength,
working hard with a large water jar.
When the sun went down, both received the same wage,
and so the years went by.
One day the wicked servant said to the good servant,
“Why do you work so hard? We’re only passing the time anyway,”
and sneered.
One day the master called the good servant and the wicked servant
and set the good servant over all the servants.
From that moment the good servant no longer had to carry a water jar.
Then the good servant said to the wicked servant,
“All this time you have deceived the master and still taken your wage,
so now work with a bigger water jar.”
It was a command.
Believers are given the same gifts and the same love.
But the lazy, though they have received, only boast
and are not faithful to death, so they will be rebuked by the master.
The servant who is faithful beyond their strength receives, besides the reward of heaven,
on earth as well the power of love, authority to drive out Satan,
overflowing material things, and the gift of overseeing souls,
all from the master,
and comes to sit in the seat of honor, always recognized.
