If You Would Treat Others Well

Showing me an empty jar, the Lord asked,
“What is inside?”
“Lord, it is an empty jar.”
“Yes. When you yourself are not filled, what can you use
to help a thirsting spirit?”
Then, showing me an empty table,
“What do you see?”
“An empty table.”
“Right. Only once the table is laid can you invite guests and serve them, don’t you think?”
“I do.”
“Then understand: no one who has not grasped the word and been filled can serve anyone at all.”
