Working Together for Good

Suppose someone got up early and swept the alley.
Only if passersby do not dirty that street
does the one who worked shine.
Even if a believer, for one soul and then another,
has served much and prayed much,
if the character or the will of the one they walked with does not follow along,
the one who interceded
will still have the fruit of their prayer and service,
but the joy of answered prayer, or the joy of working together for good,
they will not get to taste.
When the one who gives and the one who receives become one,
the joy of working together for good
is what they will come to enjoy.
