Because Your Light Is So Precious
The light he gives is so precious and so fine
that I could not receive it on my whole body.
The white robe he wears is so white and so fine
that I could not lay a hand on his white robe,
for fear I might block that light,
for fear I might soil that robe.
His eyes, looking at me, were so humble
that I could not look at him closely.
Standing beside him, I was so stained.
I firmly resolved to take on the goodness in his eyes.
So that the white robe he wears would not be soiled because of me,
I resolved to live by the Word.
If I take on that goodness in his eyes and live by the Word,
I too, following the light he shines,
should be able to share the gospel.
