The Happiness of a Small Vessel
One who has a large vessel has nothing to be conceited about,
for if a large vessel is filled with water and does not pour it out,
or receives no fresh supply, that water goes rotten.
The water in a small vessel soon dries up,
but as long as it is not greedy, even with a little rain
it can always hold clean, fresh water.
If there were a vessel that is only big and holds rotten water,
and a vessel that is small but always clean,
which vessel would people gather around?
Brimming over with water,
a large, clean vessel is more precious than anything,
but a small vessel that lives always supplied by God
is precious too—do not forget that.
