The Peace That Is in Me

The mountains are high, the rivers wide, the seas deep.
The mountains of this world rise without end,
its rivers are too wide to cross,
and why are the world’s seas so deep?
I bless you, who have come through places so high and wide and deep.
However high, however wide, however deep,
these are only the things of the world.
Look back.
None of it has anything to do with you, who are in me, does it?
Now, even if a volcano erupts,
even if the rivers run with mud,
even if storms turn the sea upside down,
it has nothing to do with you,
because you are in me.
