The Calling of a Pastor

A pastor is the soil.
The rain that pours
and pours, the sweet rain of grace,
the trees cannot drink all at once;
so you, the soil, soak it up and hold it,
and when the trees are parched and thirsty
you give it all back out again.
This is the calling of a pastor.
