Be Patient If You Would Receive the Reward

Someone picked up an acorn from the ground.
They wanted many more acorns
but did not know where or how acorns grew.
Just then the owner of an oak, who had planted the tree
and was enjoying a great harvest, came by,
and the one who had found the acorn asked,
“How can I gather a great many acorns like this one?”
The owner answered,
“Wait.”
Far too impatient for that, the other asked,
“Where should I go to gather more?”
“You will have to wait a long time.
If you wait, you will surely have many acorns.”
Frustrated with the owner for answering this way, the other said,
“I need many acorns right now.”
Then the owner said to this person who would not be patient,
“Because you think only of the acorns on the ground,
you will never have many, however long you wait.
For when its time comes, the acorn
grows far more up in the sky than down on the ground.
Even the oak tree waits patiently and works hard to bring forth its acorns;
can you, who only sit still, not even wait for it?
Someone like you, who cannot wait and wants it all at once,
does not deserve a single acorn.
Get off my land at once.”
* With these words, God was rebuking me for my impatience.
The fruit of heaven is a blessing that only those can have
who wait patiently until God brings it to pass.
