A Tree That Helps Souls

There was a great tree hung with the fruit of people’s talents.
It is a tree that helps people to be commended by God
and to grow into something beautiful.
The tree keeps safe the talents people have thrown away,
and when people who have come to see how precious their talents are
ask for what is theirs,
it says, Step on me, climb up, and take your fruit.
Some people call this tree Christ.
Now I too mean to climb up and bring back the fruit of my talent.
But it is so thick and so tall that I am afraid I will slip on the way up.
Then a marvelous thing happened.
When I, who had been so afraid, gathered my courage and took hold of the tree,
the tree bent down so that I could climb it easily.
When I reached the top, I found the fruit of talents in so many shapes.
But there is no need to worry,
for the tree put my own fruit into my hand.
Now I too want to become a tree like this one,
a tree that helps other souls.
First I must thank the Rock that made my roots take hold.
And I will gladly help many souls
bear the beautiful fruit of the soul easily.
And before all else, I will thank him.
