The Sunflower
I say I can—why do you say it cannot be done?
I say I will help you—why do you say there is no one to help?
I am your strength—why do you say you have nothing to lean on?
I have already set you on your feet—why are you sinking down?
Until now you have never lifted your head by your own strength,
so why do you say your head is heavy?
You looked so strong when you turned to follow me,
but now, caught in your own thoughts, you look so forlorn.
Lift up your head,
and turn to follow me.
That is when you are most precious and lovely.
