Keep the Faith

Faith is not something anyone else keeps or makes for you.
You think God will surely keep your faith for you,
that someone will surely pray for you,
that someone will lead you into faith,
but faith is something you must guard with your life.
If, when I carried the cross—
I am the Son of God, so he will surely let me escape it;
when the nails go in, he will surely keep them from hurting—
if I had gone to it with thoughts as easy as these, could I truly have accomplished salvation?
Never.
For fear of bringing God’s command and plan to nothing,
do you know how much I prayed?
Pray.
To keep the faith, rely on the Holy Spirit.
