Suffering Is a Passing Wind

You are a tree with deep roots.
A tree like you has no need to fear the wind
that shakes its branches as it passes by.
Do not complain that the wind is a bother,
because suffering is only like a passing wind.
No one stands watching the wind move off
and grumbles at its back;
so whoever stands watching suffering move off
and grumbles at its back is a fool.
Only with that wind can you grow,
and what your growth cannot do without
is the fierce wind that drives the rain—do not forget it.
