A Love Letter from God

When a seed is under the ground—can I really break through the soil?
It is so dark and stifling here; is there really sunlight outside?
Can I really break through ground this hard?
A seed thinks a great many thoughts.
But once it actually puts down roots, breaks through the ground and comes out,
there is sunlight, and there is rain,
and it finds there are many things there to welcome it.
What softens the ground so that a sprout can come up
is prayer,
and being sure that once out, there will surely be sunlight, just as the Word says,
and that it can become a great tree—
to put down roots holding that certainty
is, indeed, faith.
How far have you come?
Are you putting down roots, believing there is sunlight outside?
Or, saying there will be no bright place,
blaming your circumstances, your time, and your surroundings,
are you staying just as you are, not rotting, still in your shell?
My beloved,
I love you.
When I tell you to read the Word a great deal,
and when I tell you to pray,
it is because this is how you can grow.
When you have broken through the ground, should you not straighten up?
When you have broken through the ground, should you not grow
into a tree where the birds come and lodge?
Putting down roots and making you grow great—I will do that;
all you need to do is trust me and make up your mind.
People say things like this:
I have no future at all.
I have no hope at all.
Would that really happen to me?
But once they put down roots, that such things surely do happen
is what they will come to realize then.
It happens to those who believe and pray;
to those who doubt, nothing will happen.
Those full of doubt also say things like this:
See? Didn’t I tell you so?
Because of their own words, they will die just as they are.
My beloved,
have you not come this far?
Then don’t you also know that I love you?
Can you take heart and do it?
Then get up,
and let us go.
You have come this far—why could you not go farther?
Just as Noah’s family of eight became the nations of today,
though they look few to your eyes now,
in my eyes I see a vast number of saved souls.
My beloved,
let us get up.
You can do it.
I will surely show you the sun.
When people settle in that tree, they will say this, won’t they?
Who planted this tree?
How long has this tree been here?
For now you think you are nothing much,
but when you call out my name without fear,
do not forget that I am always there in the midst of it.
I chose you
not because I thought you would do outstandingly well;
I did not choose you because you had much knowledge,
but because you are so weak—
so very weak, and yet in that weakness
you love me so much; that is why I called you.
You will be able to make me known well, won’t you?
You will be able to speak well of me, won’t you?
I love you, and I love you still,
and I will love you forever.
