A Lamp on a Stand

If you set your lamp on the floor for yourself alone,
it can light nothing but the tops of your feet.
If you set your lamp on a stand, it will light only what is around you.
But if everyone who holds a lamp
sets it on a stand, then in a place as bright as midday
you can work together for good,
and those who wandered in the dark will see that bright light
and come running to you with thanks.
