Turn to Me and Be Saved
God created the world free of chaos, and gave humankind the setting best suited to life, a long span of years, and a holy heart. Yet by their sin people shut out that love and spoiled his handiwork with their own hands.
The light made on the first day divided day from night, though the sun did not appear until the fourth day, and plants had already been created on the third. This order overturns the human assumption that nothing green can live without the sun, and shows that the source of life is not the sun but God himself. That first-day light is Jesus Christ, and whoever follows him will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.
God swore by himself, ‘Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth,’ and the word that has gone out of his mouth he does not take back. Adam and Eve, Joab, and Judas Iscariot all turned away from God, fell captive to darkness and pride, and perished. Anyone whose heart is now dark and troubled must turn back and come to God, and then his light will heal the soul and restore all things.
