Think the Same Way in the Lord
The apostle Paul’s devotion holds a love that none of us would dare to imitate. His efforts to proclaim Jesus Christ are like a lamp giving light, brightening people’s hearts and leading them in the good way.
When I look at the apostle Paul’s faith, I think of a bent tree. He seems like a tree that bent itself low so that children, the old and the weak could all easily step on it and climb up high. People stepped on him again and again to reach Jesus Christ, until his bark had hardened so thick it was unsightly; yet the apostle Paul, who smiled as he looked at those scars, was a man for whom nothing was impossible in the Lord.
When the apostle Paul had fulfilled his calling and come to heaven, God must have said to him, ‘You are not a tree that grew straight like a cedar, but the way you are bent this way and that is all the more beautiful and lovely.’ As I preached through Philippians, I came to think that the apostle Paul, whatever he himself looked like, lived for salvation alone, like a tree that bent lower still so that more people could receive Jesus Christ. We should follow the faith of the apostle Paul, who even in prison grieved over the quarrels among the believers and earnestly longed that they would not obscure the glory of God. We who have met Christ must also be humble so that many people can meet Christ. Though he knew he was going to die, Paul earnestly urged the believers to live by faith because of his assurance of salvation. The members of Watercourse Church, too, have the assurance of salvation, and so we are publishing books with an earnest desire that more people will receive Christ. Though we are living in a time of hardship because of COVID-19, I long for people to meet Christ and have hope in heaven. I bless the church members who find great joy each time a book is published. I give glory to God, who has led us to publish Philippians, the fourteenth book in Watercourse Church’s Good Seed series. Thank you.
